The V & A
The V &A began collecting photographs in 1852 and now has one of the largest collections worlwide. It houses the collection of the RPS. A new large gallery was opened in 2023.
The Photographers’ Gallery
Just off Oxford Street TPG is a leading centre for the presentation and exploration of photography in all its forms. Open 7 days a week there is a programme of exhibitions, events, talks, workshops plus a specialist bookshop and cafe.
Imperial War Museum
Opening in November 2023 the Blavatnik Art, Film and Photography Galleries will be the UK’s first to explore how artists, photographers and filmmakers bear witness to, document and tell the story of war and conflict.
It will feature about 500 works from the IWM permanent collection.
The Centre for British Photography, London, SW1
Opened in 2023 has six exhibition spaces, a programme of public events, an archive and a photography sales gallery. Based upon the renowned HymanCollection it aims to to provide an expansive view of British photography.
